We drove from Crescent, OR to Susanville, CA, past lush wheat fields and the distant Cascade mountain range.
RV dining at its best - California Style! We stopped along the road for a lunch break and enjoyed a view of Goose Lake.
Great profile shot of Chuck! The mountain is nice too.
Bill bravely leads our little caravan,
but his coach is having acceleration problems.
We finally crest this part of the Sierra Nevada mountains
and see the beautiful Mono Lake area.
The picture doesn't really show the majesty of this area because the haze was heavy and the dark shadows from the clouds distort the view. That little squiggly, white line is actually the highway below
We finally arrived at Mono Vista RV Park for two days. There were plenty of other n0n-geological sights here! This adorable RV for one!
And Jane and Bill waiting for the sunset with their new friend.
What a sunset it was too!
The new day brings an unfortunate reality. Bill's cold has gotten much worse and the problem with their motorhome has to be resolved. To everyones' dismay - they must have the coach towed to Reno for repairs and they will not be able to continue our journey.
This a a large motorhome, 38', and it took most of the morning for the mechanic to get it positioned to tow.
Once the sad goodbyes were over, Bill and Jane buckled up and headed for Reno. (I just wondered if that mischievous smile on Bill's face means it's time for his luck to change!)
